The following items will always be included in a routine dental checkup and teeth cleaning:

●      X-rays: Because our x-rays are digital, they emit very little radiation and are extremely accurate. Your x-rays will be used by Dr. Amy to assess or identify any cavities, cysts or tumours and other lesions that cannot be detected by naked eye examination. X-rays can also be used to detect the location of teeth and roots.

●      Screening for oral cancer: Dr. Amy will look for any indications of oral cancer on your lips, face, neck, tongue, cheeks, gums, and throat.

●      Gum disease evaluation: We'll look for any symptoms of periodontal disease in your gums and jawbone encircling your teeth. At each appointment, we probe six distinct areas surrounding each tooth on each patient. These probings are saved for future visits as a reference.

●      Examining tooth decay: Using specific dental equipment, we inspect all tooth surfaces for decay.

●      Examining existing restorations: We'll go at your existing fillings, root canals, crowns, and other restorations to make sure they're in good shape and doing their job.

Our hygienists are extremely well-liked by our patients. During your teeth cleaning, our hygienists will explain how to best care for your teeth between cleanings and dental exams, in addition to properly cleaning your teeth and gums.

Is it necessary for me to have my teeth cleaned on a regular basis?

Most people should get their teeth cleaned every six to twelve months as a general guideline. People with specific oral health issues, on the other hand, may need to get their teeth cleaned more frequently. The following are some of the risk factors:

●      Hereditary

●      Faulty oral hygiene

●      Quicker plaque deposition

●      Smoking

●      Gum disease diagnosis due to a weakened immune system

●      Stress

●      Eating habits that are unhealthy

Your dentist can help you determine the frequency of your tooth cleanings based on your specific condition. Cleanings may appear inconvenient, but they are extremely helpful to your dental and bodily health.

Significance of Having Your Teeth Professionally Cleaned Regularly

During each tooth cleaning, your oral health will be thoroughly examined, and you will be tested for specific malignancies and illnesses. If cavities or other small issues are neglected, they can get larger and more unpleasant. Our dentist will be able to detect and correct small issues, allowing us to prevent more difficult and time-consuming dental procedures.

Oral health has been related to a variety of medical issues, including strokes and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Amy can also tell if your dental health is deteriorating and provide you advice on how to improve your oral hygiene practise before your oral health problems develop.

Benefits of Regular Teeth Cleanings

Having clean and healthy teeth has a positive influence on your self-esteem in addition to the health benefits. People who are unhappy with their teeth may grin with their mouth closed or avoid exposing their teeth in photos. You will be able to grin freely and appear happy if you have the courage to show off your teeth.

Increased self-assurance may have a beneficial influence on both your personal and professional lives. You could feel confident enough to apply for that promotion, ask that person out on a date, or take other chances you wouldn't have taken previously.
